Register as a New User

Users must register to use the Modeler application. Registration requires the user to create a name and password for identification and security when signing in to Modeler. An email address is also required to confirm registration.

The security of your models is only as good as your password.

Confirm Registration

Shortly after registering, users will receive an email at the address given at registration. The email will contain a link to a page on this website that will confirm the email address as valid. Click on the link, and be sure that the entire link appears in the browser's address box.

If there is an error, check for these common problems:

  • User is already confirmed. To test, attempt to sign in to Modeler.
  • The entire confirm URL in the email does not appear in the browser address. Email programs will sometimes word wrap in the middle of the URL. To remedy copy/paste the separate lines into the web browser's address box to assemble the complete URL.
  • User does not confirm within 3 days of registering.

If all else fails you can retry registration. (Due to security policies you may have to wait until your previous registration has been marked invalid.)

Sign In

The Modeler application is password protected (see Register) for user-generated content security purposes in transmitting to and storing on the zOOml.com website. Selecting the Modeler link in the upper right-hand corner of these web pages launches the application. But, the application first checks if the user has a valid session. Sessions remain valid while the browser is open or for a longer period of time if the user last signed in with the "Remember" checkbox checked. Sessions are terminated immediately if the user clicks on the Sign Out link in the upper right-hand corner of Modeler.

Delete User Account

The Sign In dialog has an option to Delete delete button the user account and all of the user's models. This action is not undoable. All models will be lost and the user will not be able to sign in again without re-registering. (To force the Sign In dialog from the Modeler's pages, first sign out, then click on the Modeler link in the right-hand corner of these pages.)

Reset Password

If forgotten, a user's password can be reset to a random string using the link on the sign in window and the current email address on record for the user. A new password (and the user's sign in name) will be emailed to the address.

Change Settings

User information can be changed after sign in to Modeler using the Settings link in the upper right-hand corner of the Modeler pages.
